The City of Boston will host First Night to celebrate the New Year. The event is open to the public and will feature art and musical performances, light displays, fireworks over the Boston Harbor, and a new pyrotechnics show at Copley Square.

Special events and activities will be held throughout Copley Square and Boston Common, including the Peoples Procession from Copley Square to Boston Common which begins at 6:00pm and feature giant puppets, marching bands, elegant dragons, lanterns, and more!

Ice skating is offered at Frog Pond, and ice sculptures will be on display throughout Boston Common. Family activities will be available, including arts & crafts, face painting, puppet shows, magic shows, and family fireworks at 7:00pm in Boston's Theater District.
