Hart Plaza is a 14-acre riverfront plaza located south of the intersection of Woodward and Jefferson Avenues. The plaza opened in 1975 and was named after the late U.S. Senator Philip Hart. At the center of the plaza is the Horace E. Dodge and Son Memorial Fountain, designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1978. Today, the plaza is a popular destination for locals and tourists, and is used for hosting summer festivals, concerts, and special events.
