On-site parking is available to all museum visitors at the Museum Parking Lot, which can be accessed via Washington St. and Central Ave. Valet parking is offered at the lot.
The Newark Museum, in Newark's Downtown Arts District, is the largest museum in the state of New Jersey. The Museum offers a vast collection of American art, decorative arts, contemporary art, and arts of Asia, Africa, the Americas, and ancient world. Many of the featured works are by famed artists such as Hiram Powers, Thomas Cole, John Singer Sargent, Albert Bierstadt, Frederick Church, Childe Hassam, Mary Cassatt, Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keefe, Joseph Stella, Tony Smith, and Frank Stella. Located at the Museum is the Alice and Leonard Dreyfuss Planetarium, the state's first planetarium, where visitors can experience interactive presentations on the Solar System and distant galaxies. Throughout the year, the Museum hosts special programs including group tours, workshops, lectures, and events.
